Selective racking gives First-In-First-Out rotation for free, since every pallet is directly accessible. Drive-in racking naturally enforces Last-In-First-Out, since the newest pallet placed is the first one retrieved.

Perishable or date-sensitive stock generally needs FIFO-friendly selective racking. High-volume, low-SKU-count product with no rotation requirement is a better fit for the density of drive-in.
